Advent Day 6: Everything is Possible

Advent Day 6 Reading: Matthew 9:27-31

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” When He had gone indoors, the blind men came to Him, and He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”; and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread the news about Him all over that region.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 He is able to perform miracle, after miracle, after miracle, after miracle! While Jesus was living on earth, His mission and purpose was to reconcile us through blessing, healing and restoring all that had been lost due to the fall of man, and usher the kingdom of heaven back to earth through His mighty touch.  Today, He is still performing  daily miracles on our behalf.

The question we each need to ask ourself is, Do we personally truly believe He is able and wants to do the same for us?  In the scriptural reading above, I noticed some prerequisites to His response to these blind men that prepared them to be the recipients of their miracle because:

  • they followed Him
  • they cried out to Him, Have mercy on us, Son of David!
  • they came to Him
  • they responded in faith when saying, Yes, they had the faith to believe that He could heal them

 …….and Jesus  healed them!  Yes, He is ultimately always responsible for any and all healings we receive, but frequently, we also play a role in the reciprocation process.  Through following, asking, crying out, and believing He is able,  we too, can and will be blessed with restorative healing miracles in our lives.

James 4:10 says, Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. According to this verse, we do our part by preparing our heart for the miracle and answer to prayer as we choose to humbly look unto Him for the help and miracle we need.  Preparing our heart’s through the daily holy habit of communing with Him as we would a spouse, child or best friend, helps in developing the type of relationship and rapport With God that will create a more automatic response to follow, cry out, come, and believe He is able, when crisis hits.

Thank God we have the celebration of the Christmas Advent season that lasts 30 days to continually remind us, He is LORD and He is able, for, Everything is possible for him who believes. Mark 9:23

Possibilities unlimited,

can be given, received;

Everything’s possible,

for those who believe.

 Healings, provision,

wherever hope leans;

Longings, heart’s desires,

visions and dreams.

Everything’s possible,

God says in His Word;

Because He’s not a liar,

you can believe what you’ve heard.

Believing is asking,

and trusting you’ll see;

Your requests will materialize,

will come into being.

And any fear that you face,

take authority to break;

With faith do replace

and Heavenly ground you will take.

For with your mouth you agree,

and with your heart trust and deem;

That everything is possible,

for those who believe.
