All Things Work Together For Good

And we know that in all things God works for the good

of those who love Him, who have been

called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

I continue to ponder this truth as my week begins, while I continue to complete a bible study I am working on called, The Shelter of God’s Promises, written by Sheila Walsh. This week’s chapter focuses heavily around this particular promise that God so graciously makes to us in His Living Word.

This particular promise is quite a gracious promise due to the fact that often times those difficult circumstances we are facing that God makes work for good in our lives have actually been caused because of our own shortcomings.  God, in His never-ending gracious style has promised to take EVERYTHING in our lives, even those things we’ve caused and MAKE them work for good.  That fills my heart and mouth with a resounding, Thank you God!

Knowing this truth brings me overflowing hope. Hope that no matter how I might mess things us in my life, or in the lives of others, He will bring something good out of it for all involved.  Phew!  The richness of redemption are so amazing, and the promises that are ours now and found in Christ Jesus are humbling and astounding.

This particular promise can really help us practice Letting go and Letting God.  Knowing this can help us choose to REST and trust in Him, because we know He will do what He says He will do; and in His time and in His way, bring good out of any circumstance.  Lord, I pray that You give us eyes to see and hearts to believe that You are not only willing, but able; no matter how bad things look. Thank You so, so, much that Your faithfulness and mercies are new for us every morning!
