Hopefully Devoted to You

July 24, 2012

Obedience and the fear of the Lord are good principles to live by, but will never usher us into the intimacy with God we desire and ultimately were created for.

In Genesis 22, we are reminded at God’s request, that the Patriarch Abraham willingly offered his precious son, Isaac, upon the altar. I think we would all agree this was an amazing feat. Although there was nothing in this for him, except potentially tremendous loss, because of His devotion to the God he loved, he was willing. His wholehearted commitment of his most precious possession was motivated  by his personal intimacy with God.

True intimacy with God is not discovered in the act of obedience, but through a relationship, which is rooted in the soil of devotion. Devotion to Him, solely based on our love for Him. Because we LOVE Him, not serve Him, but LOVE Him with all heart, mind, soul and strength, we are Hopefully devoted to Him.  Hopefully you are too!

Living a Life of Grace

July 16, 2012

Living by grace, empowered by grace, resting in grace; while at the same time laboring in His grace that so powerfully works within us.  Just how do we do that?

Today, when we hear His voice…….we choose to listen and respond. Responding to today’s message, not depending on yesterdays or the day before. Our relationship with God is alive in the present. We live and breathe and have our being in the present moment IN Him. When we do, His heart and ours beat at one.  That oneness will reveal to us the where, when, how, why and who to love.

As we make the choice to respond willingly and obey, His grace will empower us as He breathes His life into all we say and do.  We can rest knowing He is working in and through us for the praise of His glory.  As we believe, abide, obey, follow and trust………we can live in that place of rest,  where His empowering grace becomes the life-giving energy that works in and through us.

We are His. He is to lead and direct and we are to avail ourselves to His Presence and lead. When we do, His grace works through us.  It is by grace we have been saved, and by grace we act.   All for the praise of His glory! Choose with me to live a life of grace today.

Well-Being

July 10, 2012

Today, I  choose to live fully alive and in response to Christ.  I take my lead from Him who is my true source for life and direction. His very breath and blood is what flows through me, nourishing my spirit and energizing my motives and actions.  I make it my aim to know and understand what God wants me to do, and then commit to doing it.

Christ’s love and words are what make me whole.  His love for me and His words to me evoke beauty.  I choose today to keep company with Him.  May He express His love and reveal His truth to me and give me the grace to be a living expression of His love as I share His truth with others.

I choose today to live carefully and thoughtfully.  May my words always be life-giving.  May I have the grace to forgive quickly and completely as God has forgiven me.  May I not become impatient and take things into my own hands, but ask Him for and listen to His guidance before stepping out in making important decisions.  May I be teachable through also receiving wisdom from others.

As I choose to trust God instead of myself and others,  I will have a sense of well-being.  It will be well with my soul!
